How it Works

  1. Register to sign up
Fill out a 1-minute form to verify you are an Anthem Medicaid member.

  2. Meet your care team
Schedule your first appointment and download Pomelo’s app, where you can begin messaging with your care team immediately. We won’t replace your in-person OB or midwife, but we’re here to support you anytime between visits at no extra cost.

  3. Get 24/7 care and support
Our doctors, nurses, and other specialists take the time to listen to you. We're here for you and your baby day or night. Message with your care team anytime or meet by phone or video.

Our approach

Support for you and your baby

We're here for you and your baby to answer questions like "How do I control my diabetes during pregnancy?" or "Is my baby eating enough?"

A care team you can count on

Our doctors, nurses, and other specialists take the time to listen to you and support your goals.

Care anytime and anywhere

We're a doctor's office available 24/7 through your phone. Text, call, or video chat with your team day or night. No more waiting rooms!

Dedicated care teams

Unlimited access to a team of doctors, midwives, nurses, dietitians, therapists, lactation experts, and more. You’ll keep your in-person OB provider, but your Pomelo team is here for you between appointments (or whenever you need us!).

Customized care plans

We work with you to create a customized care plan, whether it’s meeting with our dietitian, joining a virtual group with other expecting parents, or getting 1:1 support for gestational diabetes.

24/7 availability

No more rushed appointments or waiting rooms. Meet and message with your care team anytime (including nights and weekends!) via text, phone, or video.

Some of the many ways Pomelo supports families

Patient testimonials

5 star rating
"I’m not exaggerating when I say the Pomelo Care team got me through the hardest times of pregnancy, feeding my newborn, and postpartum in general. They educated me about what questions to ask my OB and to push back when something didn’t feel right - from questioning my iron levels during pregnancy to making an informed decision about an early induction that was suggested by my OB."

5 star rating
“There is not enough support for moms in the US, and the Pomelo group is helping fix that void. I wish every new mom, or even second or third time mom, would have a group like this supporting them 24 hours a day.”

FAQ

Who is eligible?

Anthem and Anthem Medicaid members who are currently pregnant or have a new baby are eligible for this program.

What if I already have an OB-GYN or midwife?

Pomelo won’t replace your in-person provider, but is here to support your family between visits. Your Pomelo care team will work with your OB/GYN or midwife to ensure they are updated on the care you’re receiving from Pomelo. If you don't have an in-person OB/GYN or midwife already, Pomelo can help you find one that meets your needs.

How much will it cost?

Anthem and Anthem Medicaid members receive these services through their health insurance so there is no out of pocket cost.
