FAQ

Who is eligible?

Netflix employees and their dependents covered by Anthem insurance who are pregnant or have a new baby, and are located in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Virginia, or Wisconsin are eligible for this program. Matching is based on doula availability in your area.

What is a doula?

A doula is a professional who is specially trained in providing non-medical physical and emotional support and education during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. Doulas can also help with lactation and bottle feeding, and educating parents on baby care.

How does Pomelo’s doulas partner with my OB/GYN during pregnancy and postpartum?

Pomelo doulas won’t replace your in-person providers, because they do not provide medical care, but are here for support and education during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. They can also help you communicate with your OB/GYN or midwife during labor and delivery. Doulas make best efforts to attend labor and delivery in-person.

How much will it cost?

Pomelo has worked with Netflix’s health plan to deliver in-person doula services. Copayments may apply.

Is this program available in Spanish?

Yes, the Pomelo Care team includes a number of bilingual English/Spanish speakers. We are also able to support a number of other languages through a translation service. Contact us and let us know your language preferences.
